Face Yoga Method

Yoga has long been celebrated for its mind and body benefits, including its ability to help turn back the clock, but did you know that there is also Yoga for the Face? By practicing a series of facial exercises you can learn to tone the muscles beneath the facial skin and increase facial circulation and blood flow which results in a more youthful and radiant complexion. As we start to mature our skin naturally starts to sag, due to loss of Elastin in the skin, but with this technique, developed by Fumiko Takatsu, you can now take years of your facial appearance.

The FYM is a unique and natural approach that improves the overall health and appearance of your face and neck.  There are over 43 muscles in the face that can be targeted to lift the skin, naturally reduce and prevent wrinkles.

Toning your facial muscles will give you benefits which you might not even have thought of.  Face yoga method exercise programme will help you to improve the overall look of your face and reduce imbalances you may have developed.  Most people tend to use one side of the face more than the other, creating imbalances and unevenness, which increase with time. The exercises taught are simple and can be done anywhere; in front of the mirror at home, in the car, on the way to work, or on the tube if you don’t mind people staring at you.  As long as you stay consistent with the exercises, you’ll see results soon enough.

Bonnie Ryckova is a rehabilitation Pilates Teacher and personal trainer and as such has a good understanding of body’s alignment and muscle function. Becoming a Face Yoga Method Teacher gave her the power to tone and balance the entire body. She would love to share her knowledge with you and help you take a few years off your face and body!

Bonnie is offering 2 Introductory Workshops to the Face Yoga Method on Saturday 21st September and 19th October, both at 10:30-12:00. During this workshop you’ll find out more about FYM and how to release tension from your body and face. You will learn how to activate and control your facial muscles; how to change bad facial expression, which will in turn reduce and prevent wrinkles. There will also be some self- and skin-care advice, to help make your skin looking radiant.
