Chris Christodoulou

Chris is originally from Cyprus and started his dance studies in the UK as a beginner in adult ballet. After graduating a Visual Performing Arts course at the University of Brighton, he continued his dance studies in Athens, Greece, where he obtained a Diploma in Dance Teaching from the Greek State School of Dance and was then accepted as a dancer at the Hellenic Dance Company. At the same time, he started working as a freelance video editor and theatrical lighting designer, collaborating mainly with contemporary dance choreographers.

Having been through the experience of learning dance as a complete beginner himself, he is very sympathetic to those wanting to enter or return to the dance world and understands the challenges involved, both mental and physical. His classes are tailored for each group and always start at a basic level, slowly progressing accordingly, with the main focus being on correct placement, working with the body’s natural ability and building on strength, balance and musicality.

Chris is also teaching a ballet beginner’s class at Ballet4life in Chiswick and volunteering for the Move Into Wellbeing charity, which works with people with compromised mobility, including those living with Parkinson’s.
