Pregnancy Yoga

Pregnancy is a wonderful time to practise yoga and our classes are for all levels of yogic ability, from beginners to those with varying levels of experience. Pregnancy Yoga classes are gentle and safe for all pregnant women and we welcome you from 16 weeks until birth.  Yoga offers specifically modified postures which promote flexibility and the strength to accommodate the growing baby. It allows your body to open gently in preparation for birth, enables you to release physical tension and emotional fears, and teaches you relaxation techniques which you can use throughout your pregnancy. The breathing practice during the class helps open the chest and improving the  circulation to both mum and baby.  Learning to control your breathing, will help you during labour and helps to reduce stress for you and the baby.

During this 2 day course, you will learn to rebuild trust and confidence in your own body’s ability to birth, by understanding that ‘birth’ is not a medical emergency, but a very natural process. A woman who is free from fear and feels safe and unobserved will produce oxytocin and endorphins freely, paving the way for a gentle, calm and empowering birth. Rosie will show you how to release that fear, through breathing techniques, deep relaxation, visualisations as well as the power of the mind and positive affirmations.

As a highly experienced birth doula, Rosie will also weave in her extensive experience having attended a vast number births. She will provide you with considerable practical information based on this experience. Rosie regularly support births at West Mid, Kingston, Chelsea and Westminster and Queen Charlotte's, so can help you to prepare for birth at your specific hospital. Your birth partner will also learn how to practically support you in labour – there are plenty of amazing techniques and tips, well honed through Rosie's experience.

By the end of the course you will both be fully confident and relaxed as you approach the birth of your baby. You will receive the Hypnobirthing book by Katherine Graves, a folder of handouts to guide your practice at home and a relaxation MP3 download, as well ongoing support on the end of the phone if desired.

Hypnobirthing Refresher

For those who have previously done a hypnobirthing course, this 1 day KG Hypnobirthing refresher course will remind you of all the essentials you learnt first time around. You will recap breathing, visualisation and relaxation techniques, as well as practical ways to keep you calm and comfortable.

This course will give you and your partner the knowledge and tools to have a positive birth experience and make sure you are fully confident and looking forward to the birth of your baby.

As a full antenatal refresher, we will also recap on all other aspects of birth preparation.
