Baby Massage promotes positive bonding and helps your baby’s development, which enhances their emotional and physical wellbeing. It will give you dedicated time when you can relax together, with lots of wonderful benefits for you both too.
For babies, massage is relaxing, fun and can improve muscle tone and co-ordination, encourage growth and development, boost immunity, as well as aiding sleep patterns. It can also help with constipation, colic, digestion and wind.
Parents and carers benefit by feeling closer to the baby and gaining a deeper understanding of their behavior, crying and body language, which will give you increased confidence with holding and reading their signals. Massaging your baby has been shown to help with postnatal depression and provides an enjoyably calm opportunity for you to spend one-to-one time with your baby.
Our next Baby Massage course will start Tuesday 12th March for 4 weeks at 11:00-12:00 and through this hands-on course, you’ll learn why massage is so beneficial, feel confident offering your baby a top to toe massage using specific oils and cover specific therapeutic needs. Overall, your baby will be soothed and relieved from common complaints such as those already mentioned and also colds, congestion, teething discomfort etc. The course is suitable for babies from 10 weeks to crawling.
Sona Sharma is our Baby Massage instructor. As well as teaching Mum & Baby Yoga she has over sixteen years’ experience in the holistic therapy field including: being a Yoga, Reiki and ayurvedic massage practitioner and a Mama of two delightful and active growing boys!
