HYPNOBIRTHING

Learn self-hypnosis, relaxation and visualisation exercises to keep you in a state of calm and relaxation throughout your labour and birth. Find out how to identify and deal with any special circumstances that could arise during your labour and birth and in the unlikely event of medical intervention, how to decide and deal with your choices calmly and sensibly. Learn three easy but powerful breathing techniques for the different stages of labour and birth and powerful affirmations to discipline your mind to programme a positive birth experience. Find out how to create your own natural anaesthesia through Massage techniques, which greatly assist the secretion of your natural painkillers or endorphins.

 

Calm and peaceful births create calm babies. Calm babies find it easier to breast feed and sleep and tend to go on to be calm children. This makes for a happy and relaxed family.

 

You will also learn:

  • Natural techniques to use before considering any artificial method of induction.  

  • Fear-release exercises to eliminate fears or memories that could interfere with your planned birth.

  • Self-hypnosis to assist with a breech or posterior presentation.  

  • Self-hypnosis to use in the rare event that labour stalls.  

  • How to understand, be involved and work effectively with your medical team.

  • Perineal massage and physical exercises to prepare the body for birthing.

  • How partners can be actively involved, empowered and aware.

 You will receive:

  • A comprehensive course manual equipping you with everything you need to assist your home practice.

  • A detailed birth plan to present to your birthing team.  

  • Audio visual material including coverage of actual hypnobirthing births which illustrate what is possible for you.-

  • HypnoBirthing® CDs with affirmations and deep relaxation scripts.

  • Self-hypnosis and visualisation scripts to practice at home.

  • Diagrams to help you visualise the correct positioning for your baby.

There is a maximum of 5 couples on each course, so please make sure you book your space as early as possible. The workshops are suitable from 23-25 weeks onwards.

Karen Mander

 

Karen is a highly experienced HypnoBirthing practitioner, trained in the original Mongan method, a hypnofertility practitioner, meditation teacher and spiritual healer. She is also Founder of the highly successful “Breathe to a Better Birth” programme which is a complement to HypnoBirthing and pregnancy yoga. She conceived her own son naturally, despite a prognosis of medical infertility, and gave birth to him safely and comfortably at home, in just 6.5 hours

 

Karen brings her own personal experience together with the HypnoBirthing techniques, to provide a caring and successful class which guides couples through all aspects of birth, with particular attention on profound relaxation and releasing fear  She has helped many couples to achieve the natural birth of their choice and to assess and embrace what they really want to achieve at birth.

 

She is recommended by numerous midwives and other leading birth professionals.
