CHILDHOOD FIRST AID

Covering First Aid and the initial steps to follow in an range of emergency situations – if a child became suddenly unwell, was injured, ingested a poisonous substance, had a fit, meningitis or head injuries. As well as tips to help you feel more confident in caring for your child when they have minor illness, it also includes tips on what to have in your medicine cabinet, recognising various signs and symptoms and where and when to seek medical advice.

Katherine Whitby Baby-Steps Childhood Illness & AccidentsKatherine Whitby founded Baby Steps in 2006, after recognising the need for a relaxed, friendly service addressing common parental concerns. Katherine, a Paediatric Nurse, Health Visitor, Certified Baby Massage Instructor and Mummy, started her career at Great Ormond Street Hospital, followed by the Chelsea & Westminster and Cromwell Hospitals and currently works in the NHS as a Liaison Health Visitor. With over 15 years experience in answering parents’ questions, offering practical and reassuring advice and support and being a Mummy herself, she knows the many joys and challenges of being a parent!  

The Baby Steps Team of friendly Paediatric Nurses, Health Visitors and many also Mummies too, work in the NHS and private settings, maintaining an exceptionally high standard of knowledge and skills and wealth of experience. Through our First Aid and Weaning courses we aim to give you extra confidence to ensure you enjoy precious time with your children.
