Labour & Birthing Workshop

This 3 hour workshop is designed to introduce the pregnant woman and her birth supporter into the yogic approach towards late pregnancy, labour and birth. Easy yoga practice and breathing techniques for each stage are taught to offer assistance towards an active birth. This workshop is ideal for pregnant women from 30 weeks onwards with their birthing partners.

HypnoBirthing Workshop - Easy Stress Free Birthing
Imagine giving birth peacefully and easily – relaxed and in control. HypnoBirthing® is a highly successful ante natal course, which restores a woman’s confidence in her body’s natural ability to give birth calmly, without anxiety or fear. In this 2 day workshop you and your birth supporter will learn self hypnosis and visualisation skills to create an inner calm now and throughout the birthing; uniquely effective breathing and massage techniques; the source of the myth that pain is a necessary accompaniment to childbirth; creation and control of your body’s natural anaesthesia. HypnoBirthing mothers tend to have much a shorter birthing and retain much more energy. Babies born calmly and quietly sleep and feed well too!

Breathe to a Better Birth™
Breathe to a Better Birth has been developed by Founder, Karen Mander, herself a HypnoBirthing and Meditation teacher, in order to teach couples practical breathing techniques designed to control the fear that creates pain in childbirth. You will learn how assist your body and to relax into a deep level of comfort. The class complements other ante natal classes, pregnancy yoga and HypnoBirthing™. You can come on your own or with your birthing partner. Each couple will receive a Breathe to a Better Birth™ CD, to assist their practice at home and for use during labour.

Breastfeeding Workshop
A 2 hour workshop is specifically designed to meet the needs of mums-to-be who want to breastfeed. Ideal for the ones who are around 35-38 weeks pregnant and Geraldine, an independent breastfeeding consultant, will walk you through the easy steps of establishing a healthy breastfeeding rhythm, without pain from day one. Topics covered include the benefits of breastfeeding for mum & baby, understanding how it works, feeding positions and suitable attachment techniques. The aim of the workshop is to make sure you leave with all the information you need to breastfeed your baby with confidence.

Aromatherapy Baby Massage
Clinical research has shown that positive, loving, nurturing touch has an important impact on a baby’s development. Baby Massage is something everyone can learn – providing benefits to both the baby and the parent. It can aid digestion and help relieve colic and wind. It can help calm and soothe, improve sleeping patterns, stimulate circulation and promote bonding between parents and the baby. This workshop is suitable for babies from 6 weeks or older.

Baby Resuscitation Workshop
Learn what to do if your baby stopped breathing or was choking.  You will get to practice on manikins and there will be plenty of time to ask questions and practice, giving you confidence and reassurance.  An absolute must for parents – ante or post natal or anyone looking after children. Easy to use handouts are given at the end of the session.

Childhood Illness & Accidents Workshop
Covering First Aid and the initial steps to follow in a range of emergency situations – if a child became suddenly unwell, was injured, ingested a poisonous substance, had a fit, signs and symptoms of Meningitis, head injuries. As well as tips to help you feel more confident in caring for your child when they have a minor illness.  Includes tips on what to have in your medicine cabinet, recognising signs and symptoms, where and when to seek medical advice.
