Sona Sharma - Yoga Instructor Kew SONA SHARMA - ANTE NATAL YOGA, TEEN YOGA, HATHA YOGA
Sona has been following the yoga philosophy since childhood and began practicing asana/postures, breathing and meditation for over twenty years now. Her love of the subject has led her to study and qualify as a teacher with with the Sivananda Yoga Centres in London, Austria and India, and the British Wheel of Yoga in the UK. Sona began teaching in 2002 and trains annually with visiting teachers such as Sandra Sabatini, Donna Farhi, Richard Freeman and leading London teachers at The Life Centre and Triyoga. She practicsed and trained whilst pregnant with Lolly Stirk (Active Birth) and the method taught by Gurmukh in LA. Sona teaches Pregnancy Yoga, Teen Yoga and Hatha Yoga.
"As the benefits of yoga has to be experienced first-hand, I aim to give students what I experience in my practice - a balanced session combining strength and stamina, a feeling of lengthening and opening the body and settling the mind through breathing and relaxation techniques".

 

ROBERT CLARKE - LOTTE BERK METHOD
After 10 years as a professional ballet dancer touring the world with various ballet companies, including Northern Ballet Theatre, Robert found the Lotte Berk technique to be the best way of maintaining his fitness level while running a busy life.

While taking class at the studio in 2001, he was asked to train as a teacher by Gay Christie, Director of The Lotte Berk Studio. He has now been teaching for 9 years and is currently the only male Lotte teacher in the country.

Robert’s class not only will give you the strength and tone expected with any Lotte class it will also help you with your posture, balance and overall body awareness.

NICKY WHITEFORD - LOTTE BERK INSTRUCTOR

Nicky trained as a ballet dancer and discovered Lotte Berk in 1988 when she started going to the Lotte Berk studio on Fulham Road - she was hooked.  Gay Christie then asked me if I would consider becoming a teacher, so she trained, alongside Rob Clarke (our Friday Lotte Berk instructor) 8 years ago. Nicky will be covering for Teresa Allen, whilst she is on maternity leave

 

ANTHEA HOLLINGWORTH - PREGNANCY YOGA, DYNAMIC HATHA YOGA
Anthea’s love for yoga began when working in the legal and media profession and took up Hatha yoga as a form of practice and relaxation. Soon her practice took over and she moved into the sports and fitness industry to qualify as a teacher of yoga through the International Sivananda school of Yoga Vedanta. Anthea qualified as a Yoga Siromani, Teacher of Yoga in 2003 as developed by Swami Vishnu Devananda. From there she studied, practised and qualified with the British Wheel of Yoga as governed by the British Sports Council. Anthea’s teaching is further inspired by T.K.V Desikachar and Richard Freeman’s Ashtanga Yoga and went on to qualify as a Pregnancy Yoga Teacher through the Life Centre, London. Anthea has been practising yoga for twenty years and teaching for eight years bringing mind, body and breath into one. Her aim is to help achieve a quiet mind and a healthy body, creating a vibration of peace and harmony to balance the mind, body and spirit deepening and developing your yoga practice.

Jackie McCaul Iyengar Yoga Ante Natal Yoga
JACKIE MCCAUL - IYENGAR YOGA
Jackie McCaul is an Iyengar Yoga teacher qualified to Junior Intermediate level 2. Since discovering Iyengar yoga fourteen years ago, regular practice has led to a greater understanding of the many benefits yoga can bring into daily life and as a teacher she enjoys encouraging other people to experience this. Jackie's classes are disciplined yet fun, she is a good communicator, a lively teacher and encourages participants to push themselves but also enjoy themselves
 
Jackie has been extremely fortunate to be taught directly by Yogacharya BKS Iyengar at Estes Park, Colorado USA in 2005 and she regularly attends  workshops taught by senior teachers. Iyengar teachers go through rigorous training (a minimum of two years) to become qualified and continued development is essential. Jackie has been qualified to teach since 2003, has continued her studies and was successful in obtaining J.I. Level 2 status in 2007. The journey continues....

 

CRISTIAN VALLE - ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR

Cristian was born in Santiago De Chile and was influenced by his South American roots & inherited the Latin rhythm from his parents. He moved to Sweden, then London & trained in Martial Arts, Musical Theatre & Latin Ballroom Dance.
He has performed/choreographed in various Musicals, TV, Film, Music Videos, Commericals in West End, UK & all over the world. In 2008 Cristian saw Zumba and fell in love with it straight away and  trained as an instructor and have been enjoying it ever since!


Cristian is passionate about Dance & teaching Zumba and enjoys seeing his classes filled with happy people who love to Dance Zumba, get fit and have an amazing time!

 

Kate Smart Post Natal Fitness
KATE SMART - POST NATAL FITNESS, BUGGYFIT
Kate teaches the Post-Natal Fitness classes at Earthlife. Training originally with Fit to Perform, Kate gained her NVQ in Exercise to Music in 1997, whilst working on the management team of Holmes Place (now Virgin Active) in Kingston and Sunbury.
 
Now with a family of her own, Kate freelances and specialises in both group and one-to-one post natal fitness training. She is a member of the Guild of Postnatal Exercise Instructors having studied and certified with them in 2006. Kate is also qualified in and teaches Body Pump, Rpm and Aqua classes and is currently studying for a Diploma in Advanced Personal Training to include GP referrals.

 

DIANE KING - HATHA YOGA, PREGNANCY YOGA, MUM & BABY YOGA
Diane initially came to yoga ten years ago as a way of relieving the stress of working in the corporate world in London. In 2005 she embarked on a Yoga Teacher Training Programme with the Simon Low Yoga Academy which she graduated from in October 2006. She is a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Accredited Teacher and Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher (200 Level). In addition to her foundation Hatha training, she has studied in depth with Francoise Barbira Freedman PhD, obtaining diplomas in Pre/Post Natal Yoga and Baby Yoga.

She has taught in both London and Hong Kong and observes that Yoga is the best tool you can have to keep your sense of grounding, centre and inner stillness in fast moving, externally focused cities. In the teaching of yoga, she looks to create a balanced practice between dynamic and restorative poses, focusing on breath, alignment and releasing tension from the mind and body.

LUCY POTTER - HATHA YOGA
Lucy originally trained as a dancer and performed in Stage productions such as Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Grease, The Pajama Game, On Your Toes and Mary Poppins, as well as various television and film appearances over the last eighteen years.

 

Lucy continues to work as a freelance dance teacher and choreographer, in addition to teaching Hatha and Teen Yoga. She uses her dance background to influence her Hatha based Yoga classes which combine dynamic flowing postures with challenging balances, breath work and relaxation.

DONNA SCHOENHERR
Donna was trained on scholarship in New York and had an exciting career as a ballet dancer. After retiring from the stage she focused on her teaching, directing, and choreographic projects. Her twenty years of teaching experience have brought her engagements at dance companies, festivals, and schools all over the world. She started offering top quality ballet classes and courses for adults in London over eight years ago and is keen to carry on offering people the benefits and joys of ballet and dance.

 

SHIRLEY-ANNE FOSTER - BABY MASSAGE INSTRUCTOR
Shirley-Anne is an Aromatherapist, Reflexologist and Baby Massage Instructor with over 14 years of practical experience. She originally completed her training with some of the country's most respected practitioners and trainers.

 

Shirley-Anne's area of speciality is working with pre and post natal women. This interest started 13 years ago when she was pregnant with her first child. It was after the birth of her daughter that she also discovered the benefits of massage for a baby suffering from chronic colic. As a result she trained in baby massage techniques to teach other mothers the numerous benefits of massaging their baby.

 

RIS WIDDICOMBE - PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Ris has been teaching and studying movement for a long time through different media. She started in Mime and Physical Theatre working with several drama schools and theatre companies. Ris has worked in the fitness industry for many years, working at all major health clubs in West London and has been teaching Pilates since 1999. 

 

She enjoys the experience of working with people of all different abilities and will always makes the classes informative and at the same time fun!

 

 ALEXANDRA RAVENSCROFT - BODY CONDITIONING INSTRUCTOR

Alexandra is a qualified personal trainer and nutritional therapist based in Richmond. As well as group sessions and classes she also runs outdoor boot camps and works with pre and post natal clients as well as individual PT clients. She specialises in weight loss through exercise and nutrition plans.

My interest in nutrition and fitness started several years ago when I began improving my own health and discovered that many of the conditions that I suffered with could be managed with simple changes to my diet and lifestyle. As a result I made the decision to train and qualify as a Nutritional Therapist and Personal Trainer so that I could treat, train and educate others.

In my spare time I enjoy running and have completed several half marathons. I also enjoy cooking, travelling and relaxing with friends and family.
