With lighter and longer evenings and Summer on the horizon, it is time to get that body ready for the beach. There are a few changes to our timetable this term, so please check it out to see when your favorite class is on. Pilates has become very popular again, after a lull in bookings and we are pleased to offer a new beginners class on Tuesday evenings at 18:00 and Friday mornings at 10:30. Nordic Walking proved very popular and we are adding an evening class on a Thursday at 19:00. Yoga for beginners has moved from a Monday morning to Tuesday 09:30. We offer a 10% early booking discount for 6 week fitness courses booked and paid for by 17th April, please note there is no discount on shorter courses.

To help raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, we will be offering a variety of treatments on a Pamper Day at the St Michael & All Angels Church Hall, Turnham Green on Saturday 18th April from 11:00-18:00. There is a £5 entrance fee, which includes Chinese Tea and Nibbles. The costs for treatments are £6 for 15 minutes and £10 for 30 minutes. Come along and indulge yourself to some pampering, whilst supporting a very good cause. Hilde, Rosemarie and Pippa will be there offering On-Site Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reiki Healing, Reflexology, Thai Foot Massage and Chiropractic Spinal Checks. Susan Patterson-Smith, our new Beauty Therapist has worked with people within a therapeutic environment for over 20 years and has trained with the London School of Beauty & Make Up and the Aveda Institute in Holborn.

Susan will be offering the whole variety of Beauty Treatments including organic facials, eyebrow threading, waxing, manicures, pedicures, spray tanning and body wraps, in addition to tension relieving massages; reflexology, hydrotherm pregnancy massage, pregnancy reflexology and aromatherapy massage.

But fear not, we have found another fantastic Homeopath; Prue Fox, who will be available after Easter. Anyone who has seen Mary Miller at Earthlife in the past, can continue their treatments without a new 1st consultation. We are delighted to introduce our new Acupuncturist, Tracy Frankson to the Earthlife team.

Tracy graduated from The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading which has candidacy with The British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. This three year course included the study of Western medical sciences to ensure a general understanding of the conventional illnesses diagnosed and treated by a doctor.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine the body is dependent on an energy or life force to maintain health and harmony. This energy is known as Qi. The flow of Qi can be disrupted by many things including emotions, stress, lifestyle, infections, diet, trauma and toxins. This leads to illness and disease which manifests differently in each individual, whether physically, emotionally or spiritually. Acupuncture, by treating the whole person, helps to recover that equilibrium.

Acupuncture can help a wide range of conditions, such as asthma, hay fever, allergies, sinusitis, digestive problems, skin problems, anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks, depression, infertility, PMS, hot flushes, arthritis, headaches/migraines, stress, M.E., general tiredness and exhaustion, to mention a few.
